Pirates Lament

A kinetic sculpture in defense of those of us who live by the Jolly Roger but are eventually destined for that pendulous fate that awaits us on the docks.

Alluding to the pirate ensign depicting a skull and crossbones, it is a working ship's clock which displays the time as well as the current watch. Every minute a motor whirrs and with a gnashing of teeth, slowly moves the minute hand ahead, uh, one minute. On the half hour another motor turns on and causes the bell to count out ships bell time.  Every four hours the watch wheel advances to the next watch.
