CLOCK MOTOR REPLACEMENT
For 120 VAC synchronous motors
The crankshaft is attached to the
motor by means of a small coil of
wire wrapped around the motor
shaft and secured with a drop of
Krazy Glue; cyanacrylate. Use
cyanacrylate glue remover or
acetone to detach coil from motor shaft.
Clean the new motor shaft with
alcohol to remove any residual oil.
Replace motor and slide coil back
on to shaft. Be aware that the shaft
is keyed and the crankshaft will have
to be rotated to find the angle that
allows it to slide back on. Apply a
small drop of glue to the end
of the coil. Do not allow the glue
to flow back into the bronze bearing
which would cause the shaft
to freeze up.
