La Cage incorporated five
"boidees" in it's design; one
oscillating back and forth with
a telescope, one swinging on
a swing, one just rocking and
one teaching another how to fly.
Every minute the motor
rotates the crankshaft and the
cooling fan fifteen times which
then activates all of the characters.
the motion is transformed through
two 6:1 reduction gears and finally
a 25:1 reduction gear for the minute
hand.
It is an accurate working clock
that is powered by four "AA" batteries.
